Bottom line, this crew is all about the understated energy associated with most hip-hop acts of the 90s. That's the reason we took a liking to E.A.R.T.H., which stands for "Everything Around Revolves Thru Hip-Hop".
As expected, their lyrics are aimed crowd-pleasers which are witty and introspective.
Their latest sophomore album, Grass Roots: From The Ground Up, definitely has an old school vibe laced with some modern elements. Tracks like "Average Man" and "Feel Good Music" are simply themed, but our featured download, "Sexin' After Textin'" definitely documents some foreplay for phone sex. Although digital beats and some auto-tune blips definitely give their sound a minimal update, we would love to see some DJs get their hands on this stuff and remix the shit out of it.
